A conversation regarding the efficacy of translation with Manuel Portela, Assistant Professor in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, University of Coimbra. Manuel Portela is the translator of a number of English-language authors including Samuel Beckett, Laurence Sterne and William Blake. In particular, this segment will consider the difficulties encountered and the strategies employed in the translation of English-language verse and theatre into Portuguese.
